As of November 7th, 2025, the Waterview Property Owners Association has begun contacting residents regarding Florida Department of Environmental Protection violations as a result of
LOT OWNER NON-PERMITTED ACTIONS
on the Waterview Greenbelt.
The Waterview POA is required to cooperate with the regulatory agencies including FDEP, Charlotte County, and Army Corps of Engineers in regulating the use of our "Environmentally Sensitive" Greenbelt areas, and issuing remediation orders.
These actions are undertaken to protect all WPOA lot owners from any potential fines imposed by regulatory authorities including the FL DEP, Charlotte County, and to limit the legal & financial liability of the WPOA broadly. Prior written authorization for any changes made to the Waterview Greenbelt is required in advance of any action by adjacent property owners.
The ECC will assist all property owners with the process of obtaining required authorizations to make changes to the Waterview Greenbelt, and the ECC will continue to assist owners with remediation. However, Property Owners with identified violations are strongly encouraged to work directly with FDEP on individual corrective actions, while keeping the ECC and WPOA of plans and actions along the way.
